PT// Forget to Protect
Um muro tem o poder de dividir, separar, afastar, impossibilitar. Corta e afasta, mas define. “Forget to Protect” explora o fragmento de memória como um mecanismo de defesa. A interpretação de memória e identidade como entidades compostas por vários componentes, que quando fragmentados revelam diferentes “facetas” do seu carácter.
O projeto procura associar uma memória a estilhaços, onde separados cada parte carrega determinadas qualidades. Quando considerados parte de um todo demonstram no seu carácter um potencial de agregar a sua identidade com as restantes partes.

A wall has the power to divide, separate, distance, and make it impossible. It cuts and distances, but it defines. “Forget to Protect” explores the fragment of memory as a defence mechanism. The interpretation of memory and identity as entities made up of various components, which when fragmented reveal different “facets” of their character.
The project seeks to associate memory with broken pieces, where each separate part carries certain qualities. When considered as part of a whole, their character shows the potential to aggregate their identity with the other parts.
BIOs
Nuno Sousa é um artista visual, professor e investigador, cujo foco é a relação entre memórias e experiências estéticas com a arte digital. O seu trabalho manifesta-se sobretudo em conteúdos digitais e peças interativas. Nuno tem mestrado em criação artística contemporânea, e uma licenciatura em produção de conteúdos interativos e multimédia; participou no programa Erasmus, onde estudou cinema na Faculdade de Rádio e Televisão Krzysztof Kieslowki. A sua especialização é a modelação e a renderização de conteúdos 3D, sendo esta a base de muitas das suas colaborações técnicas como freelancer. Atualmente é professor de modelação 3D no Instituto superior de Ciências Educativas do Douro (ISCE Douro) e faz parte da equipa da Cultivamos Cultura onde o seu trabalho se centra na digitalização de peças de bioarte no âmbito do projeto Arc-Hive.
Sofia Mordido Aires (1999, Beja) é uma artista e designer portuguesa, natural de Vila Nova de Milfontes, Licenciada em Escultura pela Faculdade de Belas Artes, da Universidade de Lisboa, onde atualmente frequenta o Mestrado em Design para a Sustentabilidade.
Desenvolve um corpo trabalho variado, explorando maioritariamente os temas de identidade, memória, tal como a ponte entre o privado e o publico, através da Ourivesaria (nível 4 QRQ – António Arroio), Medalhística, Cerâmica, Instalações e de Design de Serviços e de Produto.
Nuno Sousa is a Visual artist, a teacher, and researcher, his focus is the relationship between memories and aesthetic experiences with digital art. The work manifests itself mostly in digital content and interactive pieces. Nuno has a Masters degree in Contemporary art creation, and a degree in production of interactive content and multimedia, and has participated in the Erasmus program, where he studied cinema at the Krzysztof Kieslowki Faculty of Radio and Television. His specialization is the modelling and rendering of 3d content, this being the background for many of his technical collaborations as a freelancer. Currently a 3D modeling teacher at the Instituto superior de Ciências Educativas do Douro (ISCE Douro) and part of the team of Cultivamos Cultura where his work at is focused on the digitization of bio art pieces in the context of the Arc-Hive project.
Sofia Mordido Aires (1999, Beja) is a Portuguese artist and designer, born in Vila Nova de Milfontes, with a degree in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, where she is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Design for Sustainability.
She develops a varied body of work, mostly exploring the themes of identity, memory, as well as the bridge between the private and the public, through Goldsmithing (level 4 QRQ – António Arroio), Medals and Jewelry. António Arroio), medals, ceramics, installations and service and product design.
